Hi, I’m Rob Mendes, host of History of Portugal!
Having spent my childhood and early teenage years in Portugal, and being exposed to all the physical history present in the country, definitely made a big impact on my young mind. And I have been a lover of history ever since!
Besides maybe knowing something related to the “age of exploration," I find that most people aren’t really familiar with Portuguese history. And there is so much more to the story of Portugal than just caravels!
I created this show because I want to share the story of the Portuguese people with the wider English-speaking world.
